G.WIZ is a nice, air-conditioned, indoor activity to do on a hot, or rainy, day. The exhibits are more appropriate for an older child to interact with, but my 2.5 yr old son has FUN, regardless. He never wants to leave! Read the rest of this entry »

Longwood Park is one of my favorite parks to take the kids. The playground equipment is some of the nicest I’ve seen around here. The large “castle” playground for 6 to 12 year olds is fun to play on, and the best part is that it’s all sheltered from the sun, under a huge, blue, canopy. As of May 2009, they installed a new state-of-the-art prototype playground for children aged 2 to 5. 96% of the solar radiation is blocked by the Apollo shade system, while the children are protected against accidental falls by the Softile safety surfacing. Not many people I’ve met know about Locklear Park. I think it’s relatively new, and I can barely find it in a google search. Plus, you can’t get to it by driving on Lockwood Ridge Road. It’s hidden within a neighborhood. Here’s the address, map (click link above), and some pictures so this little gem can finally be discovered! At Locklear Park, you can find:

I first heard about Red Rock Park from some of my friends, but haven’t been able to make a play date there. I was in the neighborhood this morning, so I decided to finally check it out. I really like this little park, as do my friends! At Red Rock Park, you will find:
