Longwood Park is one of my favorite parks to take the kids. The playground equipment is some of the nicest I’ve seen around here. The large “castle” playground for 6 to 12 year olds is fun to play on, and the best part is that it’s all sheltered from the sun, under a huge, blue, canopy. As of May 2009, they installed a new state-of-the-art prototype playground for children aged 2 to 5. 96% of the solar radiation is blocked by the Apollo shade system, while the children are protected against accidental falls by the Softile safety surfacing. Locklear Park

Not many people I’ve met know about Locklear Park. I think it’s relatively new, and I can barely find it in a google search. Plus, you can’t get to it by driving on Lockwood Ridge Road.
