Not many people I’ve met know about Locklear Park. I think it’s relatively new, and I can barely find it in a google search. Plus, you can’t get to it by driving on Lockwood Ridge Road. It’s hidden within a neighborhood. Here’s the address, map (click link above), and some pictures so this little gem can finally be discovered! At Locklear Park, you can find:
. a tot lot designed for 2 to 5 year olds
. playground designed for 6 to 12 year olds
. some swings: two baby, two regular
. sheltered picnic tables
. a big field (I imagine this area may be zoned for flooding, hence the bridge)
. restrooms
. parking in street
. two small lakes
. unpaved trail
Locklear Park playground is covered by a large canopy of beautiful oak trees. This is a nice little park! Check out the image gallery below…
