Posted on Friday, July 24th, 2009 at 3:15 pmAdd some fun to snack time with yummy fruit kabobs!
.
Ingredients
bamboo skewers
assorted fruit
marshmallows
Mix and match your favorite fruits, and try different combinations. For example:
Example 1
bananas
strawberries
grapes (any color)
marshmallows (optional)
Example 2
bananas
apples
marshmallows
Example 3
strawberries
pineapple chunks
marshmallows (optional
.
Instructions
1. Clean your fruits and cut into medium slices/pieces
2. Add your fruit and marshmallows to the skewers in any order. It’s a great way to reinforce patterns and colors with your children.
Banana, strawberry, marshmallow, grape, banana, strawberry, marshmallow….what comes next?
You could also do this with colors for example.
Yellow, red, white, purple/green (depending on grape color) yellow, red, what comes next?
Kids love food and fun. If you can add a teachable moment into their snack time it will be a lesson learned!

A special thanks to Heather R. for this fun and yummy snack idea!

Yum, these look really appetizing. I’ll have to allow the kids to help make them, an edible art project!
